Privacy Policy

Plain-English and specific. This explains exactly what CyberRate collects, why, who we share it with, and how to have it deleted.

Last updated: June 27, 2026

Who we are

The service this policy covers

CyberRate is a free external cyber-security rating tool operated by TeamLogic IT Bloomington ("we", "us", "our"). This policy applies to the CyberRate website at cyber-rate.com and the scan, report, and email features it provides. It does not cover any third-party website we link to.

What we collect

The information CyberRate handles

We collect only what we need to run the rating and deliver your report. There is no account to create and no tracking across other websites.

  • The domain you enter. When you run a rating, we record the website/domain you submit and the results we generate for it (your score, the individual check outcomes, and breach counts). You do not need to give us an email to run a rating.
  • Your name and email — only if you unlock the full report. If you choose to receive the full report, we ask for your first name and a work email. We store these together with the domain you rated and the date.
  • Public records about the domain. Every check reads information that is already publicly available — DNS records (SPF, DKIM, DMARC, MX), the site's public TLS certificate, its public HTTP response headers, and breach intelligence about the domain. We never access your systems, your mailbox, or anything behind a login.
  • Limited technical data. Your IP address is used transiently to enforce rate limits and prevent abuse; it is not stored alongside your lead record. Our hosting and CDN providers keep standard, short-lived server logs.

No cookies, no ad trackers, no analytics pixels. CyberRate does not set tracking cookies or use third-party advertising or analytics tools, and it does not track you across other sites.

How we use it

Why we collect this information

  • To generate your rating and show you the findings.
  • To email you the full report you requested, including the list of any breached accounts and the fix for each finding.
  • To let our team follow up about your rating and the optional free review — because you submitted your details and asked for the report.
  • To protect the service from abuse and to keep it running reliably.

We rely on your consent (you choose to submit your details and request the report) and our legitimate interest in operating, securing, and following up on a service you actively used. We do not use your information for automated decision-making that produces legal effects.

Who we share it with

We don't sell your data

We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not add you to marketing lists without your explicit opt-in. We share information only with the service providers that make CyberRate work, and only as needed to provide it.

ProviderWhat it handlesWhy
RenderApplication hosting & databaseRuns the site and stores ratings and leads
CloudflareContent delivery / networkDelivers the site securely and filters abusive traffic
ResendEmail deliverySends your report and our internal lead alert
DeHashedBreach intelligence lookupChecks the domain you entered against known data breaches
CalendlyBooking (only if you book a review)Schedules the optional free review

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or in connection with a business transfer. CyberRate is not affiliated with DeHashed or the operators of any breached service; breach data is sourced from a third-party, publicly accessible database.

How long we keep it

Retention

  • Report links expire after 30 days. The shareable link to your full report — which contains any breached-account details — stops working 30 days after the rating, so an old link can't expose that information indefinitely.
  • Ratings and contact details are retained so we can follow up on your request and improve the service. We keep them no longer than necessary for those purposes.
  • You can ask us to delete your data at any time (see "Your choices" below), and we will remove it unless we're legally required to keep it.
How we protect it

Security

We serve the site over HTTPS with HSTS, apply a strict Content-Security-Policy and related browser protections, gate report details behind the email step, rate-limit our endpoints, and store data with a reputable hosting provider. No method of transmission or storage is ever completely secure, but we take reasonable, current measures to protect your information.

Your choices

Your rights and how to use them

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, to opt out of further contact, and to object to or restrict certain processing. We honor these requests regardless of location.

  • Access or deletion: email us and we'll provide or delete your information.
  • Opt out of follow-up: reply to any email from us asking to be removed, and we'll stop.
  • We never sell your information and don't share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

To make any request, email privacy@cyber-rate.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
